TiE Tokyo Launches Membership Drive
September 14, 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TOKYO, JAPAN – September 14, 2026 — TiE Tokyo is launching a membership drive to increase its current membership from 25 to 50 people. The initiative comes from the efforts of the chapter’s new Membership Chair, Mr Dusan Stamenkovic. TiE Tokyo will increase its membership types in order to become both more inclusive and also to form the framework for an envisaged international network of entrepreneurs who can leverage the organization’s more than 60 chapters around the world.
Stamenkovic said, “TiE Tokyo fills a vacuum in the entrepreneurial journey for startups in Tokyo. While there are accelerators and incubators, almost all of these are closed ecosystems and are generally not available for angel and seed investors to access. Our organization allows startups and investors of all kinds to meet and explore relationships in a nurturing and open forum. TiE Tokyo also provides local mentorship and international networking to newer startups who have not yet qualified for such gated groups such as YPO and EO. These groups do of course provide a tremendously valuable service to established entrepreneurs, but for those learning the ropes and still growing to a specified minimum threshold, until now there have been few resources to help them.”
He added, “Lastly, TiE Tokyo operates primarily in English, although most of our members are bilingual, making it a natural launchpad for startups seeking international advice, networks, business opportunities, and funding. We are open to both local Japanese and non-Japanese entrepreneurs, as well as members outside Tokyo who have strong business interest in the Tokyo connection.”
